Christmas is a time of giving and the customers and Facebook followers of Clark Family Eyecare made this point as 2018 drew to a close.
Clark Family Eyecare held a Christmas charity raffle in aid of the the Guide Dogs asking their loyal customers and Facebook followers for their help to raise a target of £300.
“Even though we had some great prizes up for grabs, including a pair of prescription Maui Jim Sunglasses and Bushnell Binoculars we found many people were more than willing to give to such a worthy cause” says Annica, Co-Owner.
The raffle was held over a period of 4 weeks until the close of business for the festive period on the 22nd of December with 3 winners being announced in the New Year.
1st prize was Maui Jim sunglasses won by Mr Manley of Donington, 2nd prize was Bushnell binoculars won by Lee Sallabanks and 3rd prize, a £50 voucher to spend in the practice won by Debbie Hood owner of Corner House Flowers.
The generosity of people was outstanding, even after the raffle had concluded. Raising a grand total of £415.80p going over and above the original target of £300.
Guide dogs Nana and Ozzie from Spalding popped in to Clark Family Eyecare along with their owners Shelia and Dennis and Guide Dogs colleague Elizabeth on Friday 8th Feb to thank the staff for their fundraising.
Annica adds “We will continue to support the Guide Dogs and are looking in to sponsoring a puppy. Any donations for the Guide Dogs will still be collected on their behalf if you are unable to donate to them directly.” The average cost to support a guide dog from birth to retirement is £55,000.
During their visit to the practice Nana and Ozzie met practice pup Daisy and were all incredibly well behaved.
